Frankapalooza
October 4th, 2004
Frank came down from Boston last week, and I took a few days off from work to hang out with him and Piergalline. What follows is a detailed account of the debauchery that took place while he was here. I will try to share pictures when I can, but a lot of the photos were taken by Frank, and I won't have copies until he uploads them tonight. Nonetheless, here's what happened:
Wednesday
Frank arrived on Wednesday in the evening. The moment after he landed, we were at the ESPN Zone. Much fun was had by all as we ate, drank, and played videogames. Actually, we played videogames until they shut the electricity off on us... right in the middle of an awesome game of NFL Blitz. Bastards!
Thursday
Thursday morning, we headed to Cheeburger Cheeburger for lunch. Cheeburger has a 1lb burger on their menu, and if you are man enough to eat it... they'll put a picture of you on their wall of fame. Suffice it to say, we were all very manly...
After our monumental achievement, we went to a Texas Holdem tournament on the east side of Baltimore. Very fun, but it was my first time playing and I got my ass handed to me after about an hour at the table. Piergalline did pretty well though, and Frank did even better than both of us. But, in the end... none of us walked out with any money. *shrug*
From the tourney, we went to Red Brick Station in White Marsh for dinner... and we didn't end up leaving until the lights came on.
Friday
Frank wanted to go bowling... so, we went to Jillians. Afterwards, we played some games in the arcade and stumbled upon one of the most addictive games ever made: Sega Derby Owner's Club. Holy cow, this game is awesome. Basically... you breed your own race horse, train it, and then race it against other horses (either controlled by the computer, or by other players sitting next to you). And since the game prints out a card with your horse's information on it, you can keep training the same horse every time you play... continually making him faster and stronger. Take my word for it: it has the addictive quality of pure, uncut heroin. There were people sitting there with entire books of horse cards. Insanity.
After Jillians, we stopped at a liquor store to pick up some booze for the Orioles/Red Sox game. Through my job, I was able to get some amazing tickets, and it was a great game. Frank definitely enjoyed himself.... making sure everyone in attendance knew what team he was rooting for:
We ended Friday at a bar in Fell's point. Very fun, but at this point I was drunk and exhausted.... never a good combination.
Saturday
Not much to say about Saturday... Frank went to Piergalline's house to make stromboli while MeLisa and I laid around the house taking it easy. After the previous couple of days, we needed a break.
Sunday
We went back to Jillians on Sunday for food, football and more Derby Owner's Club. I told you it was addictive.
Afterwards, we stopped for some italian ice, and ended the night at Piergalline's house playing Tiger Woods golf on the Xbox.
All in all, a very fun vacation... but now I am back to work and exhausted. I think I need a vacation to recover from my vacation.
