A Work in Progress
March 13th, 2006

MeLisa and I have been living in our new house for about two weeks now and we are just starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The first week was spent moving and putting together furniture. This week is mostly unpacking, moving boxes to the rooms they belong in and generally trying to make the house livable. Be warned, the pictures below depict a house in a total state of chaos... these photos are not for the weak of heart or those with OCD.

I'll begin with the living room, which is starting to kind of look like a living room... except, of course, for all the discarded boxes lying around.

Next up, the office and guestroom. Both are almost usable, but both still need a lot of cleaning/unpacking before they will be finished.

The kitchen is actually pretty close to being done. All of the appliances are working and the furniture is where it's supposed to be... a little cleaning up and we'll be set.

The basement is definitely still a work in progress. We are waiting on our couch to be delivered (still a few weeks away) and we haven't painted or bought shelving for the room yet either.

The bedroom is just about done though... just a little cleaning to do and it will be finished. Our closets will probably get overhauled at some point, but otherwise this room won't go through too many more changes.

And that's about it. While messy, the house is definitely livable and already feels like home. MeLisa's parents are coming to spend a weekend with us in a few weeks though, so we need to make a LOT of progress this weekend.

More updates to come!
