It is GLORIOUS! Updated: March 1st, 2007 (RSS) MeLisa and I decided to finally jump on the HDTV bandwagon now that the prices have come down some. We bought a 42" 1080p Westinghouse LCD HDTV, a Samsung upconverting DVD player, and a new TV stand: We got everything hooked up last night, and it is amazing. First we watched some Rome in HD.... un-frickin-believable. The picture was better than I could have imagined. I kept blurting out "look at the dirt! look at all the rocks in the dirt!". Then we popped Finding Nemo in the new upconverting DVD player, and I was shocked at how big of a difference the player made. I set the player to output at 1080i, and it definitely looks MUCH better than a normal 480p DVD player. I am sure it isn't in the same league as HDDVD or Blu Ray, but it looks as good as most of the HD tv stuff we watched last night. MeLisa and I already have plans to buy a PS3 in May (Blu Ray...
